Titmouse Pigeon

GENERAL INFORMATION

Today, the pigeons known in our country as "Baştankara" or "nun" are known as "Nun" in the world. The word "nun" means English nun. The reason why these pigeons are named abroad lies in the color formation of these pigeons resembling the clothing of the nuns. There are some varieties in the world known by the names "German Nun", "English Nun", "Spanish Nun". It is a breed bred in various countries of the world. They range widely from America to Australia. Before I knew that these pigeons were so widespread in the world, I guessed that Titmouse had a local race unique to our country. In my research on the origin of this race, I could not find any exact information.

Primate pigeons are a breed commonly bred in our Southeastern Anatolia region. It is especially located in Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır provinces. I do not have a clear data about only which city we originate from. I know that a Diyarbakır farmer grew up in Ankara. It is also in the hands of another grower in Ankara. While visiting Bursa bird market, I met a couple and a couple in Çorlu poultry shows. In addition, I have some photos taken in Şanlıurfa. I know that from all this information, it is not very common in our country.

PHYSICAL STRUCTURE
In the tit, which is a medium-sized and even slightly larger pigeon, the head is neat and rounded. Takka looks wide and imposing from ear to ear. The beak is a little short from medium size and normal thickness. Depending on the color of the bird, the beak color may be black or light (bone). The eyes are fully rounded and the eye ring is not prominent. The eye color is clear and bright as the pearl eye is called. The feet are of uniform length, dark red color and have no legs. It is a pigeon with a broad chest and upright posture. It does not have a very volatile structure, it is mostly grown for form. It makes short-term flights. Its appearance in the air is very nice while flying. The number of tail wires is 12 in this race, which carries its tail on its wings. The tits have an oilcloth on the tail. It is a sought-after feature that the number of colored wires on the wings is 7 to 7 or more is equal.

COLOR MAKING AND COLOR TYPES
It is noteworthy that the color structuring in the tits. The body is generally white. However, the wings of the wings and tail are colored. This color also shows an interesting distribution in the bird's head. This color continues to enclose, completely covering the head. It is cut at the top of the hat. It sags towards the same color length and ends in a neat round shape in the middle of the chest. The bird appears to be wearing a colorful children's apron. In addition to colors such as black, brown, yellow, red, blue, and silver, some of these colors are available in light or dark shades.
