Bayburt Pigeon

About Bayburt Pigeons
Bayburt Pigeon, named after our Bayburt province in the Eastern Black Sea region, is known in English by the name "Turkish whisperer" in the world. As we understand from this definition, which we can translate as the name of Turkish whisper or songbird, the song side of these pigeons in the world is considered at the forefront. In our country, they are evaluated within our songbirds.

Our Bayburt race is also known locally as "Çift Gugul" in and around Bayburt province. The race known as "Belgian Ringbeater", which is grown in Belgium in the world, was developed as a result of breaking the Bayburt with hoop races (Trabzon). Therefore, the two races are very similar. Maybe because of this reason and because of the close proximity birds with Trabzon, our Bayburt race tended to be treated like a hoop breed. However, there is no circle movement in our Bayburt race. The circle movement is a behavior unique only to our Trabzon race in our country and even in the world. Our Bayburt race is a purely local race and is not a well-known and raised race across the country. For this reason, I will try to explain this race, which we know little about, briefly and to the extent that I know. I believe that we will get to know our race better when more healthy information comes from its breeders.

One of the characteristic features of the Bayburt race is that it is a songbird. Especially male birds display their crows while courting their females. In bays where Bayburt is grown, there is usually a long pole on the ground. The bird draws deeply into the lungs and looks bigger than it walks along this pole, pushing it through. This type of crowing is called "pole pulling" in the region. Birds that crow in the form of a pole are healthy and valued pigeons. The best of Bayburt pigeon, after crowing, faints like Denizli roosters.

The reason why it is called double gugul is because these pigeons are tacky and riveted. Rarely, only those with back crests (hats) are encountered. However, they are not preferred much. In these pigeons, the taqka should extend from ear to ear, like a scoop. Relatives in Belgium only have tackas. Their bodies are of medium size and even slightly larger. Normal sized eyes and beak are placed on a round head. The beak is of normal size, but looks slightly thinner than normal and has an elegant structure. It can be dark or light depending on the color of the bird. The eyes are of normal size and the ring around the eye is not obvious. Eye colors change according to the color of the bird. Often dark eyes (red and orange) are found. Rarely, light-eyed ones are found. The feet are cleft and light red. It is a race that carries its wings on the tail.

Our Bayburt race is a pigeon that has volatile features as well as songbirds. It is said to fly long. He flips while flying, but his roll is like rolling in the air. Usually he makes a single somersault. Sometimes it is observed that two rollers overlap, but these rollers are never like the pigeon pigeons. Bayburt pigeons also press the tail called "waist breaking" and make a downward movement. Wing sounds are quite high. He is a timid creation pigeon. There is no way to handle it. It adds dust to smoke so that I will escape when you enter the nest. He hits himself from place to place.

Bayburt pigeons usually have variegated colors. Its main colors are White, Black, Red, Yellow and Blue. In variegated ones, these colors are mixed in various ways. There are white wings and tail wires as well as only white ones, and tail wires are the ones in the bird's own color. In addition, the wings and tail wires are not white, but the bird has its own color. Those with white patches from under the beak to the neck in the style that can be called Yaşmaklı are observed. In addition to the variegated ones, there are also plain ones.

In some of the bayburt, a remarkable color structure is observed. The most prominent features of these species are that there is a moon-shaped white patch of color in the neck of the bird that narrows from front to back. This patch is called "star" in the region. This color patch looks like a pendant hanging on the bird's neck. This patch comes out properly until wearing a tactic and ends with thinning. This patch should not stretch over the head. Apart from this white part, there is more whiteness in two parts of the bird. The first of these is the wing wings of the bird. The wings of these pigeons become white. The second is the bird's abdomen and feet. It is white in these parts, starting from just below the body. Apart from that, wing covers, tail wires and the white patch on the neck and the part between the abdomen are colored. The colored sections can be of different colors according to the color of the bird.
