GENERAL INFORMATION
Demkeş GüverciniOrijini is one of our very old races that went back to the Central Asian Turks. Demkeş race pigeons are our songbirds and their history in Anatolia dates back to 1000 years. In the world, these pigeons are generally known as "trumpeter", which means trumpeter in English. There are many types of trumpeter breeds in the world. Demkes are close to the known race with the maximum name "Bokhara Trumpeter" in the world today. Demkes, one of the origins of the Bokhara trumpeter race, are very similar to this race, but there are some differences.
In our country, four different breeds, namely ankut, demkeş, dove and Bayburt, are raised. Ankut and Demkeş are Turkmenistan originated races with close relatives. Indeed, ankut and ironworks are very similar. There are three differences between them. First of all, there is no color variety other than the color we can call red coffee in ankuts. In Demkeş, the color variety is very high. The second bands have a slightly larger body than the ankuts. The third change is in the way of crowing. Doves are of Arabian origin and were developed in our country. Our Bayburt race is one of our local races unique to our country.
Common characteristics of these races, ankut and demes, are the types of singing called "pulling". The term 'dem' means that one of the reeds accompanies the singer continuously or intermittently during the presentation, which is improvised in Sufi music and Turkish music in general. This is mostly done with the aim that the soloist is not detonated. These pigeons are called by this name because the sounding shape is compared to brewing. Demkeş means attracting dem. We cannot say that Demkes are very common in our country today. Breeders are not as much as they used to be, and their number is rapidly decreasing.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
Demkeş is a pigeon race mentioned in almost all of the old sources. From this, we can conclude that they were grown very widely in ancient times. It is understood from the way of expression that it was a highly valued race at that time. Evliya Çelebi states in his narratives about Istanbul that the breed of the Demkeş was raised here in 1638. Based on this report, we can say that there is a known and bred breed in our country for a minimum of 400 years. It is known that their undocumented past goes much further. Demkes are of Central Asia Turkmenistan origin and came to Anatolia at the beginning of 1000's with the migration of Turks from Central Asia to the west.
Democrats and ankuts started to be recognized in Russia through some Turkish groups heading towards Russia during the same immigration. It is known that Bukhara city, which is located within the borders of Uzbekistan today, was raised among the religious structures in ancient times by the clergymen who were employed here, and they were trying to acquire different characteristics of the race. Indeed, in various Russian sources, the view that the Bukhara race originated from Central Asia is included. During the development of the Bukhara race, we do not have any information as to whether orphans, ankuts, or both of the songbirds of Central Asian origin were used together. Only as a result of these efforts, we know that the breed known as "Bokhara trumpeter" in the world today, known as "Bukhara" or "Buhara Demkeş" in our country, has emerged.
I came across the name of "Bukhara Demkeş" in our country, and I saw it in a 1932 publication. Even from this designation, it is possible to conclude that the Bukhara race is an improved version of the demes.
The Bukhara trumpeter race has reached European countries and has been recognized in Russia from the mid 1800s, probably through Russia. The Bukhara race started to be developed in Europe in 1865, in England in 1872 and in France in 1883. At that time, this breed was known as "Russian trumpeter" in Europe and was later called "Bokhara trumpeter". Many trumpeter races in Europe today emerged as a result of the development of the Bokhara trumpeter race. In this respect, I think it would not be wrong to say that the trumpeter races of our fellow countrymen in Europe are of origin race. At the beginning of these races, we can list the English breeds of "English trumpeter" and Germans "Double crested trumpeter".
Today Demkeş name known to race in Turkey, in the world "Bokhara Trumpeter" with the name of the known races are very close relatives. The differences are some nuance differences. The most striking of these changes is that the carcass, called the front hill or rose, is not fully rounded in the iron, but is not long enough to cover the eyes and beak. However, in Bukhara, the carcass is completely round and very long. So much so that the bird cannot see the eyes and beakYou have. In addition, on the back hill we call takka, it is again more flamboyant in Bukhara. In addition, demes have a characteristic body shape and posture. In steamers, the body has taken a more rounded shape than the ironworks and the postures have changed. In addition, Bukhara are slightly larger than Demkeş.
PHYSICAL FEATURES
Demkeş is a form pigeon. They are raised not for flight and play, but for their physical beauty and way of singing. The sounding of these pigeons called "pulling" is important. Good and long brewers are preferred. The drawing time should not be less than 40 - 45 minutes. Demkes draw attention with their long and heated singing. When they are blown, they do not fly too much and tend to be put immediately. All of these pigeons are trotters and the trotters are long and curved back in the style called reed trotters. They do not have no legs. Again, all Demkes are double-crested. These pigeons become tacky and riveted. There are no hills. Topless are also found today as a result of only their lineage breaking with various pigeons. Only these are not considered as very precious among our growers.
In these pigeons, the takka does not look so imposing that it is only in Bukhara, to completely cover the neck. Perch can be full round or semicircular. Only its length is such that it does not cover the eyes and beak. They have thin and medium-sized and elegant beak structures. Beak, nail and eye colors can change depending on the color of the bird. These pigeons have larger body and weight than normal. The wings are carried on the tail. They have a thick and short neck structures. The chest is slightly curved forward, round and wide. Feet are a little shorter than normal. It has a unique form and stance.
The juvenile productivity is not very good. Especially during mating periods, if my perch reaches the eyes, the bangs that close their eyes must be cut with scissors. Again, in order to facilitate mating, it is useful to remove some of the long legs and the hair around the anus. The foal productivity can be increased with the support of foster birds.
COLOR VARIETIES
The color diversity of Demkeş is very high. In addition to plain colors such as White, Black, red, blue, yellow and red brown, there are many varieties (variegated) in the form of a distribution of these colors on white and black.
