Situation of Taklambaç Güvercini in Turkey
Taklambaç Güvercini - It is a race that is widely grown in Konya in our country. It is estimated that it is among the old and indigenous races of Konya and came to Konya with Anatolian Seljuks.
It is a race that has been known in Anatolia for nearly 1000 years and it is also known as "We are rice" in Konya. The word "we are here" means beak. Because these pigeons have small beaks, this name is given. Today, their number has decreased very much. They are almost never seen outside Konya. They can be found in some of the old birders in Konya. For this reason, we are an endangered race and need to be urgently protected.
Historical
It is a race that does not have a specific name because it is not recognized among the breeds of pigeons in the world. Konya Metropolitan Municipality has given a long place in pigeon breeding in a web site prepared by Konya. In this article, it is interesting to note that bird breeding in Konya is very old, but it is interesting and alarming that Konya does not mention the indigenous races of Seljuk and Taklambaç. He flips over while flying. There are also those who never roll over. The somersaults are more preferred. In the obsession race, the feet are long legs. Very rarely, those with no legs are also seen. These are thought to be breaking. These types are considered worthless. While flying, they do not go as high as Mardin type tumblers, they fly up to an hour at medium height. However, if they are flown regularly, they fly high and long, just like Mardin pilots in terms of flight characteristics. However, there are no play styles such as coming out and firing seen in Mardin type tumblers. In this race, the beak has a small thick and attractive (wide) structure. Therefore, it is believed that they have relatives with Mısri (Güllü, Bango) as blood. However, obsolescents differ from this race by the absence of physically chest roses, their legs and small eyes. In addition, their bodies are slightly larger than bangoes. It also has a flip-over feature while flying. This feature is not seen in bangoes. Feather covers are frequently textured. They are straight tails and the number of strings in their tails varies from 12 to 16. Those with more than 12 tail wires are not acceptable. They can be with or without a back. Eye structures are small. They can be in various colors in color. Its main colors are white, black and various mixtures thereof. The local names of these colors are as follows. Aktaklambaç, karatablakcu, karafaş, karakuyruk, karakafa karakuyruk, calli asleep and offended. There are also some sub-variations of these colors.
Color Variations
AK TAKLAMBAÇ: The whole body is completely white. Occasionally, there are black white obliques, which are called "waist black". Again, black and white wires can be found mixed in the tails of the white tabernacles. Such birds are called "marbling."
BLACK PLUG: The whole body is completely black. Sometimes the shade of this black may be a slightly lighter and matte shade. This type of black observer is considered worthless. These birds are called "grizzly zidgara". Sometimes there may be spots on the bird's head called white tweezers. This kind of black observer is called "weasel zidgara".
KARAKAFA: Pigeon's head is black and the other sides are white. Black on the head should not sag towards the neck. The same pigeon is also called "ala". If the white color is higher than normal in the comfrey birds, these birds are called as "girl brothers".
KARAKUYRUK: Pigeon's tail is completely black. The whole body turns white, but the bird has a black spot called "heart patch" on its back. The same pigeon is also known as the "blackbird regiment". If there is a black color in the black tails that goes down from the shoulder to the chest, it is called "pingy".
KARAKAFA KARAKUYRUK: If the pigeon's head and tail are black and the other sides are white, it is called this way. Sometimes these birds have a transversely white line in the bird's tail. These types of blackheads are called "lanterns".
CALLI TAKLAMBAÇ: These pilots also have black body and tail, wings are white. The eye color in these birds is called "flutter" and has a blue or beige moire structure. Çakırlık has both eyes. Such pigeons are also known as "tail black calli".
KIRGIN: It is a mixed color bird consisting of black and white. It does not have a distinctive color feature. Usually the head, tail, wing and leg are white. The neck and body are black. They are not regarded as overvalued.
TODAY'S BREEDING TODAY
In my research on this race in Konya, I observed that the race has decreased significantly. They are not widespread in Konya, a race that only old and old birdbirds are interested in. These pigeons are sad in the bird market that was set up in the "immigrant market" on Sundays in Konya.
