BODY STRUCTURES AND BIOLOGIES
Dönek Güvercini It is a medium sized but quite long pigeon race. The tail plumage feathers, which are 14, are often considered longer and wider than normal. In many, the tail is slightly inclined in the shape of a roof, although not as much as in butterflies. In this breed, which carries its wings on the tail, the wings are a little wider towards the tip and the wingspan is a little wider (the distance between the two wing tips) is at the same time, they also have a long beak. The stance of these birds, which have short legs, is almost parallel to the ground. bred trotters and peak not seen in the quitter in Turkey. Those that have started to be seen frequently in recent years are hybrids with Macedonian (Yugoslavia) period. The most common colors are white-headed, wing tips are white and white-headed, wing tips and tail are white. the other sides are mostly black, then blue (black banded) or lighter, respectively, depending on the frequency. The least common ones will be red (painterly). White-headed and long winged wires are called Baska in İzmir region, and those with white tail are also called Galaça. They are named according to their color as follows; black gala, black other, blue gala etc. Recessive reds, whether they are in solid color or pied, are called jackals. Eye colors are often black, but other eye colors are found except for the wild eye color.
Sexual maturity (anger) depends on nutrition, but a little later than other races. However, they are more susceptible to diseases such as trichomonad and paramixovirus. Babysitting characteristics are phenomena when looking at mail and dewlap. Often, a significant change in development is observed in offspring in a nest.
They GROWING REGIONS IN TURKEY
The main cultivation is Turkey's western region. Although it is not very common here, in some cities it is almost exclusively grown. The most growers are in Izmir, one of the big cities. We can count Bursa and Denizli after İzmir. Although it is widely grown in other races especially in İzmir and Bursa, it is only grown in Denizli wherever it is. They are raised by maximum immigrants in Izmir and Bursa. Apart from these provinces, only this race is found immediately in some districts on the Aegean coast, for example in Ayvalık and Thrace, in Malkara and Keşan districts. There are very few breeders in Istanbul, as in almost every race.
FLIGHT
These birds, which gain height when they are released, dive by collecting their wings when the bird is shown on the ground (twinkle) and during this dive, they rotate in the form of a propeller on the wing tail axis. The breeding goal in this race is to transform long distance at high speed. During the turn, the posture of the wings varies from bird to bird. While some of them turn their wings almost by sticking them to their bodies, most of them keep their wings open a quarter during the turn. Another part of them turns by opening their wings too much. When viewed from the side, the transition between turns is clearly evident even in very fast turns, unlike the roles (reelers) that the bird turns itself on each turn. The best turn can be seen when immersed at an angle of 45 degrees. In this respect, the deviation leaves the diving and returning standards unfavorable.
EXERCISE TO FLIGHT
These birds, which look timid in the house, are very easy to control. If there are a few birds in front of the poultry house, it will not get up easily. You can even take a group of knives with a stick and take them to areas they don't know. Unless there is an external intervention, it means that they do not fly unless there is anything that will terrify them excessively. However, due to these features, do not conclude that they are badly volatile. Dönek kittens can be accustomed to flying faster than many other breeds. A baby that has never flown can easily rise behind flying birds. Because of these features, there is a point to be considered when young birds are first flown. Even on their first flight, they can follow the other birds and rise very high. Only when birds are shown from below, they cannot go down quickly like other accustomed birds. Since they do not know the environment well enough, they open up too high and disappear. Especially if there are other birds flying around and even wild pigeons and doves can cause the puppy to be surprised. In this case, the bird flying before the bird should be frightened and the birds should be removed if possible. As it can be understood from here, similarly, the pups are prevented from rising and opening too much in their first flight. With this purpose, birds of other breeds can be used, which do not fly for too long and do not rise very high. However, even this method stated earlierIn the form of m, it is risky if there are other birds in the environment that will disrupt the concentration of the birds. Another way to avoid losing offspring is not to fly early. If they are first flown at the age of 8-10 weeks, it is difficult to get lost as they will have improved orientation skills and know the environment better on the ground. In some races, performing the first flying at a late age negatively affects the flight standard and other abilities (similarly to the somersault). Even in these breeds it becomes difficult to ensure that the 8-10 week old puppies can only get up in the air compared to the 5-6 week old ones. As long as the renegades are kept in shape, the first flying is not a problem even if it is done much later. Adolescents, even 20-22 weeks old animals are very easy to fly. Also, flying at a young age does not negatively affect diving and returning standards. However, during this period, they should be prevented from being lubricated by paying attention to their nutrition. In this breed, as in all flying birds, the feed must be limited. Oiling negatively affects diving and spinning quality even in well-flying and rotating birds. My suggestion is that when the birds are hungry, the amount of feed they can eat in one meal is given in two meals: 1/3 in the morning and 2/3 in the evening. Flying birds can be given predominantly wheat. A small amount of quality breeder feed should be given along with wheat. Diving and returning exercises can be started after the bird is connected to the poultry, after the tour to get to know the environment. For this purpose, the bird to be acclimated should be flying with an experienced bird. When the birds have reached a sufficient height and there are roughly 45 steps (under the wind) where the positions of the two will land, their attention must first be drawn to any ground (whistle, whistle, handkerchief, waving, etc.). This sign becomes "ready for diving" after a while. Subsequently, the bird should be shown immediately and the experienced bird should be allowed to dive. Soon the inexperienced will follow. If more than two birds are blown at the same time, it is difficult to ensure that all of them take positions at the same time, even though they are collectively flying birds. However, wherever they are in the air, they will react to the bird below (shimmer) and they cannot be taken as a result of the diving and returning. Some breeders fly a bird at once. The advantage of this method is that the bird is very easy to control. The only disadvantage is that a bird flying alone cannot reach a sufficient height.
In the exercise, after taking a position, they must be sure to look at the place they will land, that is, the bird to be shown. Because the quality of diving and returning is significantly affected by this situation. As the flying riots fly, they should be kept in a place where they can watch them well and see us well. It is in vain for us to stand in a place where birds cannot see us while flying, then wait for them to emerge and take positions. Because take the position sign ourselves, and when the birds see us, they wait for diving and even dive. Therefore, there should always be a place to be seen and the "be ready for diving" sign should be given.
